Premier league all time goal scorers
Alan Shearer is the premier league’s all time top goal scorer with 260 goals from 441 appearances. Shearer scored his last premier league goal for his home town club Newcastle United against their rivals Sundarland in a derby on 17 April 2006. Intriguingly, Alan Shearer’s only league title came in the 1994-95 season with Blackburn Rovers, for which he scored 112 goals in just 138 games.
Harry Kane is second on the list with 213 goals in 320 appearances. It is unlikely that Harry Kane will break Alan Shearer’s record given that he has since moved to Bayern Munich in 2023.
Frank Lampard, the only midfielder in the list, netted 177 goals in 609 appearances, making him the premier league’s most prolific midfielder of all time.
Notably, Thierry Henry managed to score 175 goals in 258 appearances giving him a goal per game ratio of 0.68, the highest among the top 10 goal scorers. Thierry Henry helped Arsenal to two premier league titles. He still holds the record for the most Premier League Golden Boot awards (four).
